Location: Remote US or Canada.

The Technical Sales Engineer role is a highly diversified role that requires solid technical skills as well as solid commercial insight. The main responsibilities in the job as a Technical Sales Engineer will be to ensure timely and correct responses to customer enquiries, prepare clarifications and deviations to offerings and guide technical negotiations together with Service Sales account managers and customers. The role is ideal for those interested in expanding their knowledge in commercial strategy, working across the business through engaging local and global technical stakeholders and supporting solutions based on the latest market demands.


• Provide technical support to the service organization for sales of aftermarket products/offerings by validating and enhancing the technical viability of aftermarket product sales agreements, optimizing performance & cost variables to maximize value to the customer and minimize business risk
• Provide technical support in ensuring the most high-quality technical solution is offered and accepted
• Provide technical information and explain the advantages of products to customers
• Respond to customers’ technical concerns and region-specific requirements. Ensure timely response and high-quality customer service to both internal and external customers
• Support the sales process by responding to technical due diligence questions and requests for proposals
• Provide technical subject matter expertise during negotiation and review of technical aspects in sales contracts
• Present technology at conferences and generally be a regional technology expert supporting Vestas in front of potential customers


• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Structural or Aerospace Engineering combined with a commercial interest
• Minimum of 2 - 5 years of experience in the wind industry or sales engineering role. Experience in wind project operations
• Well-organized and demonstrated project management skills
• Should be a highly motivated attitude and be able to work with little to no supervision
• Ability to handle and influence activities across multiple organizations
• Good attitude talking with and presenting to external stakeholders (customers, banks, conferences)
• Good PC computer skills (MS Office) required, MS Office - Outlook, Word and Excel
• Highly motivated with demonstrated accountability and ownership. Functions effectively in a time-sensitive situation in environments of rapid change and conflicting demands. Demonstrated ability to balance priorities. Demonstrates a sense of urgency in meeting goals
• Commitment to continuous improvement and quality methodology skills. Effective issue resolution and structured problem-solving methodology. Enables improvement in existing documentation development across multiple functions and departments within Vestas
• Ability to understand technical language and to recognize and differentiate technical issues, and translate needs to the Vestas value proposition for a customer
• English communications skills (verbal, active listening, written, meeting management, presentation)
• Eligible to work and travel internationally

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SAP and additional software programs)
• Experience working with customer management systems (SAP, Salesforce) is a preference.
• Ability to work flexible hours and with a variety of cultures (coordinating with various time zones)
• Problem-solving skills
• Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms in English
• Ability to work with people, to guide by influence and by motivating and empowering
