The position supports the electrical aspects of Vestas wind turbine sales and installation, efforts. Position is required to perform complex electrical engineering assignments with considerable latitude for action and administrating.

Electrical Pre-Design:
Collection of all electrical data and customer/site/grid requirements for project grid integration studies and request studies for Engineering Pre-Design
Review Engineering Pre-Design study reports and evaluates for external use.
Support Customer's to optimize projects using the Engineering Pre-Design study results.

Grid Code Support:
Grid Compliance Community Support including Grid Code scouting, interpretation & influencing.
Motivated communication with System Operators, support System Operators on model usage and integration of the latest Vestas model to their System Model.
Participate in Grid Code and Wind Industry working groups and technical committees.
Prepare model data packages and associated support to system operators and customers.
Review new wind turbine system designs for North American code compliance.

Technical Sales Support:
Research and prepare formal responses to customer inquiries regarding wind turbine capabilities and dynamic modelling.
Prepare and deliver technical presentations to customers, industry, and regulatory organizations.
Review utility interconnection requirements to ensure wind park compliance with grid transmission operators.
Review customer's electrical studies and provide recommendations for compliance and optimizations
Liaise with Third-Party OEM on integration of their equipment with Vestas Power Plant Controller.

Construction Support:
Assistance during customers/TSO/contractors' meetings
Prepare Functional Design Specification for Power Plat Controller implementation
Prepare site-specific turbine settings for grid code compliance performance.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, SAP and additional software programs)
Problem solving skills
Regular and committed attendance
Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms in English

Education, Training, and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on power and control systems required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical power and control systems; background in solving power and control system problems
Experience and knowledge of PSCAD, TSAT and E-TRAN
Ability to work in a time-sensitive situation and organize priorities in a fast paced/deadline-oriented environment
High-quality oral and written communication skills
Great organizational skills, ability to maintain confidentiality
Demonstrated flexibility working in a progressive and changing organization.
Solid computer skills, specifically in MS Office products and AutoCAD
Should be a highly motivated and be able to work with little to no supervision.
Specific experience in the implementation, operation, system standards, and service of wind turbines.
