Vestas have an excellent opening for an qualified Civil Engineer based in New Zealand to work on our current and upcoming projects in and around the country.

Region APC > Construction & Operations APAC > EPC & BoP APAC

The purpose of this role and the team itself is to work closely with our Construction team and third party contractors to ensure the civil and structural aspects of the projects are delivered in accordance with contract requirements and best practices. You will be required to follow relevant Federal or State legislation and provide confident guidance on all civil infrastructure processes.

This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of and join a team working on some high profile projects leaving a positive mark on builds which will stand for decades to come.

Review of civil and structural design drawings and documentation against contractual obligations, industry standards, safety compliance and best practice.
Ensuring compliance with scope requirements, making sure all assigned works are completed on time and within budgetary limitations.
Ensure civil deliverables required to be submitted by Vestas to its customer is provided in a timely and high-quality manner.
Coordinate design interfaces with Site Electrical Engineer and other discipline leads
Coordinate Safety in Design Reviews.
Review Inspection and test planning of civil components and infrastructure.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure technical queries, variation and payment claims are assessed in a timely manner.
Attending meetings to assist with expert knowledge in these areas
Monitor BOP progress and contribute to deriving solutions or mitigation measures should delays be incurred.
Maintain a good working relationship with client and contractors.
Ensure all work carried out is in compliance with Quality and Safety requirements at all times.

Bachelor Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
CPEng - Chartered Professional Engineer

Management of subcontractors and designers.
Review of civil and structural design
Experience with Pavement / Road / Drainage design highly valued
Experience with Concrete / Foundation design highly valued
Negotiation with major stakeholders, both clients / contractors
Ability to operate within high-pressure environment
Experience in construction of Wind farms highly valued
Advanced use of MS Office.
Experience with using document control systems highly valued (E.g. Team binder)
Professional verbal and written communication / negotiation
Relationship building, both internal and external
Innovative view and practical approach toward role
Commercial and Risk Awareness
